About Dr. Kristin Russell
Dr. Kristin Russell is a licensed psychologist and consultant specializing in the development and implementation of neuroscience-based programs. With over 25 years of experience in trauma-informed and resilience-focused care, she collaborates with Dr. Kate Truitt & Associates, in partnership with the Truitt Institute, to advance company-designed initiatives integrating the NeuroTriad Model and Brain Partnership™ framework into community, neurodivergent, and women’s health programs.
In her consulting role, Dr. Russell contributes to the design, refinement, and evaluation of applied neuroscience programs that expand the accessibility of brain-based healing and empowerment strategies. She supports the translation of the NeuroTriad Model’s core principles—Agency, Safety, and Connection—into evidence-informed practices that foster resilience, emotional regulation, and adaptive growth across diverse populations.
Dr. Russell brings a wealth of professional and lived experience to this work. As the mother of a neurodivergent child and the producer of the 2021 documentary I Want My Kid
Back: Treating Emotional Dysregulation, she offers valuable insight into the systemic and personal challenges families face when seeking effective, compassionate care. Her perspective strengthens the organization’s mission to create community-based, neuroscience-integrated solutions that are both practical and inclusive.
Dr. Russell earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi, a coaching certification from the College of Executive Coaching, and a certificate in Public Policy from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Through her collaboration with Dr. Kate Truitt & Associates, Dr. Russell supports the organization’s vision of empowering individuals and communities to cultivate brain-based resilience and thrive through science, compassion, and innovation.
