Dr. Kristin Russell is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing trauma-informed and resilience-focused care. As both a certified personal and executive coach, she integrates therapeutic and coaching approaches to help clients heal, grow, and create fulfilling, meaningful lives. Dr. Russell specializes in supporting women as they navigate life’s challenges, empowering them to extend the same care and compassion to themselves that they give to others. Her experience as a working mother gives her a deep understanding of the complexities of balancing personal, professional, and family demands.

Dr. Russell is passionate about helping individuals understand how personal histories and adaptive patterns shape current behaviors. By blending Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral approaches, she equips clients with tools to process trauma, foster emotional regulation, and build resilience. Her clinical expertise includes working with anxiety, mood disorders, chronic medical challenges, and major life transitions such as parenting concerns, relationship issues, and work/life balance. She is also highly trained in perinatal and postpartum mental health, offering compassionate support to mothers during this pivotal time.

In 2021, Dr. Russell produced the documentary I Want My Kid Back: Treating Emotional Dysregulation, which highlights the struggles families face in accessing effective care for children with emotional dysregulation. Inspired by her son’s personal journey and similar experiences in other families, the film calls attention to the urgent need for accessible, evidence-based solutions.

Dr. Russell’s innovative work is grounded in cutting-edge, neurobiologically-based approaches that address the mind-body connection. She blends this with practical strategies to offer impactful treatment for individuals seeking healing and meaningful change. As a mother of a neurodivergent child, Dr. Russell brings both professional expertise and lived experience to supporting families navigating emotional and behavioral challenges.

Dr. Russell earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Mississippi and her coaching certificate from the College of Executive Coaching. She also holds a certificate in public policy from the University of Colorado at Denver and is committed to influencing systemic change to expand education and affordable access to mental health care.
