Dr. Justine Duyst is a skilled psychologist with extensive experience supporting clients through trauma, grief, and the challenges of navigating chronic medical conditions. She is passionate about helping individuals build resilience, rediscover authenticity, and align with what matters most in their lives. Dr. Duyst specializes in trauma-informed care, including developmental, relational, and medical trauma, as well as trauma related to chronic illness, life-threatening diagnoses, and grief. Her approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and neuroscience-informed, mind-body techniques, enabling clients to process trauma, reduce distress, and develop adaptive coping strategies. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with chronic medical conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, and autoimmune disorders and offers holistic care to foster psychological healing and physical resilience. Additionally, Dr. Duyst has worked with veterans, addressing their unique challenges with a trauma-informed lens that honors their experiences.

As a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP), Dr. Duyst is highly skilled in guiding clients through grief and loss, whether stemming from bereavement, health changes, or life transitions. Her integrative, neuroscience-based approach combines warmth and curiosity to empower clients on their healing journeys.

Dr. Duyst’s academic background reflects her dedication to understanding trauma and resilience. She earned her doctorate from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology and Marriage & Family Therapy, where her research focused on resiliency factors in adolescents who had been commercially sex-trafficked. During her undergraduate studies in San Diego, California, she also examined the relationship between death anxiety, group bias, and attachment. These experiences shape her nuanced understanding of trauma, attachment, and human resilience.

She tailors her interventions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals, guiding them toward greater emotional well-being, self-compassion, and fulfillment.
