About Rebecca Turner
Rebecca Turner is a licensed psychotherapist with a Masters of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy, a concentration in Medical Family Therapy, and is Board Certified in Neurofeedback. Rebecca has been curious about the brain for decades. As a result, her clinical work is grounded in the NeuroTriad model which focuses on trauma-informed, neuroscience-based, resilience-focused care. Rebecca uses an integrative blend of Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Systems Theory all deepened and enhanced by the foundation of Neurobiology. Rebecca’s comprehensive understanding of the brain and how it both impacts and creates our experience of the world is integrated into all aspects of her clinical care.
Starting with your brain and nervous system, Rebecca is passionate about inviting your whole self into the healing process to nurture your mind, soul, and body. With humor, creativity, compassion, and curiosity always guiding the way, Rebecca is dedicated to walking with you to create your empowered and unique journey of growth and healing.
Rebecca’s clinical specializations include:
- Treating Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and complex grief, as well as acute trauma (PTSD). Rebecca has studied the neurobiology of acute and developmental trauma extensively. Her clinical work in this area is based in deep compassion, and a firm belief that healing is possible and resilience is wired into the human system. Rebecca incorporates innovative psychosensory modalities in her clinical care of trauma and grief and is also a Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner.
- Addressing a range of anxiety disorders and phobias using a neurobiological lens. As a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), Rebecca helps her patients transform anxiety into an ally, tool, and opportunity for deeper self-awareness to get at the root cause of anxiety creatively and effectively.
- Supporting those with pain and chronic illness by focusing on the intersection between our hardware (the body, brain, and nervous system) and our software (our mind and sense of Self). Rebecca integrates psychosensory techniques with traditional psychotherapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion tools to create a space for those suffering from chronic conditions, especially when they co-occur with other mental health difficulties.
- Identifying and supporting Highly Sensitive People (those who navigate the world with heightened emotional and sensory sensitivity). This group, so easily missed or misdiagnosed, find a space of understanding and empowering support in Rebecca’s care where their sensitivity becomes a superpower and friend.
In addition, Rebecca is the head of Dr. Kate Truitt & Associates’ Neurofeedback Program and is Board Certified in Neurofeedback through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). Neurofeedback is a cutting-edge technology that works directly with the brain’s electrical patterns to gently and non-invasively promote optimal wellness and symptom reduction. Rebecca is a Certified HeartMath Techniques Practitioner and incorporates physical and emotional stress management techniques and education into her patient care. Rebecca specializes in the use of neurofeedback and biofeedback training to address mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD, as well as in promoting mind-body renewal through improving sleep, stress management, and physiological restoration.
