Did You Know?
When we experience stressful events or unpleasant emotions, our heart rhythms change and as a result, our brain functioning is impaired.
It is easy to learn how to send different electrical messages from your heart to your brain.
Our brain and body respond in similar ways, no matter what the stressor is. This means tools that are based in neuroscience can help in a wide variety of circumstances!
Resilience is a skill that we learn. A key part of resilience is learning how to prepare for, adapt to, and recover from stress.
Biofeedback, Stress Assessment, and Stress-Reduction Training Program
Unlike trying to think your way out of stress, our Stress-Reduction Training Program uses body-based tools and techniques to teach you how to manage stress before, during, and after it occurs. When we experience stressful events or unpleasant emotions, our heart rhythms change and as a result, our brain activity is negatively impacted.
The more stressed we are, the less cognitive and emotional capacity and flexibility we have. Because of the intricate communication relationship between our heart and brain through our nervous system, we can reverse-engineer this process and learn how to regain a sense of balance and composure, even when things are hard.
Stress-reduction training teaches you how to:
- create and sustain Coherence: a state of physiological balance and clear communication between the heart and brain;
- regulate your Heart Rate Variability (HRV), creating a positive shift in our body’s electrical signals and chemical messengers; and
- reduce the negative impacts of stress.
Our Stress-Reduction Training program has two tracks.
Track 1: A one-time session with an assessment of your baseline Heart Rate Variability (HRV) status, a valuable window into the nervous system’s stress management capacity, and training in 2 key tools to manage stress on a daily basis.
Track 2: Go in-depth with our 4-session, personalized program to teach you how to build a resilient and sustainable relationship with your nervous system. Including an HRV Assessment before and after the program to track your progress, this program is customized to meet your stress needs. Throughout the process, you will build a stress-management tool plan to be used long after you have completed the program.
An HRV assessment is included in our Comprehensive Brain Function Assessment package as a vital part of a well-rounded and comprehensive neurobiological assessment. Stress-reduction Training is included in our In-Office Neurofeedback sessions.
