About Dr. Yolanda Céspedes
Dr. Céspedes is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Clinical Training at Dr. Kate Truitt & Associates. Having worked across both academic and clinical settings, Dr. Céspedes brings with her extensive experience in training, supervision, and delivery of clinical care. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, with expertise in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Dr. Céspedes is committed to helping those who struggle with feeling overwhelmed, worried, and/or fearful. She understands that today’s world can sometimes feel unmanageable and that a mindset of “I can’t handle this” may define one’s daily experience. Dr. Céspedes focuses on building resiliency in her clients by empowering them with effective tools for healing and self-care. She emphasizes the connection between mind and body, relying on the latest developments in neuroscience to inform her work. She utilizes interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and biofeedback. With these techniques, she expertly guides clients in becoming “unstuck” and learning new strategies for relieving distress, restoring balance, and building long-term resiliency.
Dr. Céspedes brings warmth and compassion to her work, creating a space where clients feel heard and understood. She believes in her clients’ capacity for healing and growth, and strives to help them find peace, joy, and fulfillment in their lives. She sees her role as that of a guide, providing a roadmap and lighting the way, while allowing her clients to choose the pace and direction for moving forward.
Dr. Céspedes received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California and completed her clinical internship and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She has been licensed in the state of California (PSY 23111) since 2009 and is a Certified HeartMath Practitioner.
